Switching Personality Commands
Introduction
Available exclusively to paid plan subscribers, switching personality commands allow you to transform your bot’s personality during your stream. This powerful feature helps create dynamic, engaging experiences for your viewers.
Understanding Personality Switching
Before diving into the setup, it’s important to understand what personality switching means:
- A personality is essentially your bot’s personality profile
- Each personality can have different conversation styles, responses, and behaviours
- You can switch between these personalities during your stream
- Personalities can be triggered by commands, channel rewards, or automatically based on the game you’re playing
Creating Your First Switch Personality Command
Initial Setup:
- Navigate to your dashboard’s Commands tab
- Click the green “Add New Command” button - your gateway to creating new commands
- Select ‘Switch Personality’ from the command options
- Note: This option will only be available if you have a paid subscription
Command Naming Considerations:
- Choose names that reflect the personality being activated
- Examples:
- “!serious” for a more professional bot personality
- “!silly” for a more playful interaction style
- “!rpg” for a fantasy-themed personality
- Remember the exclamation mark (!) will be needed when using the command
- Make names intuitive for moderators and yourself to remember
Setting Appropriate Permissions:
- Consider carefully who should have the power to change your bot’s personality
- Available permission levels include:
- Anyone: Generally not recommended for switching personalities
- Followers: Use with caution
- VIPs: A good option for trusted community members
- Subscribers: Rewards your dedicated viewers
- Moderators: Often the safest choice
- Broadcasters: Most restrictive, limiting control to you alone
- Think about your stream’s needs:
- Who needs to control personality changes?
- What could go wrong if the wrong people had access?
- How might it affect your stream’s atmosphere?
Selecting Target Personality:
- Choose which personality profile this command will activate
- The dropdown menu will show all your created personalites
- Consider creating a testing personality first
- Make sure you’ve set up your personalities before creating switch commands
Response Configuration:
- Decide between static and AI-generated responses
- For Static Responses:
- Create clear messages indicating the personality change
- Example: “Switching to gaming mode! Let’s play!”
- Keep it consistent with your stream’s style
- For AI Responses:
- Provide clear instructions for the AI
- Example: “Announce the personality switch in an enthusiastic way”
- Test different instructions to find the right tone
Cooldown Implementation:
- Set appropriate cooldowns to prevent rapid personality changes
- Consider these factors:
- How disruptive is the personality change?
- How often do you really need to switch?
- What’s your stream’s typical pace?
- Recommended cooldown periods:
- Minimum: 30 seconds
- Standard: 5 minutes
- For major personality shifts: 15+ minutes
